November Forecasts | 27 Oct Full Moon
November’s Astrology, First Thoughts…
November features a shift we’ve been feeling deeply within… the shift of the Nodes into new zodiac signs. The Nodes move in the opposite direction around a chart to the planets. They represent hidden soul information that we sometimes feel and intuit, but other times simply respond to as if migrating birds. Throughout October we have been feeling the build-up to the Nodal shift, and in November finally the shift happens.
27 October Full Moon Leads the Way into November
Throughout October two astrological stories were developing side by side. One was the ‘Libra story’ of opposites trying to decide whether to relate or to remain autonomous. This could be opposites within our inner needs, or opposites in life scenarios, such as relationships. The other story was the ‘Virgo story’ of noticing previously unseen fine print, especially regarding day-to-day practical realities. The October 27 Supermoon holds the tension of the culmination of these Libra and Virgo stories.
On 27 Oct, the North Node is only two weeks away from moving out of Libra. This increases the Libra intensity and therefore our vacillation about relationships/agreements. Which should we jump towards? Which should we take a breather from? When the North Node moves into Virgo on 12 November, it ushers in a new 18-month cycle and seems to be pressuring us to decide by the 12th which connections and contracts we will prioritise as commitments.
Being in Taurus, the Full Moon Supermoon highlights the importance of being practical in our decision-making. If we wish to continue a certain connection/ project/ contractual arrangement then the practicalities must add up. Yet we are not to think in limited ways about practicalities. At this Full Moon, the wonderful triple conjunction of Mars, Venus and Jupiter in Virgo helps us innovate. The triple conjunction also helps us see ‘out clauses’ if we realise it’s time to go.
Venus, Jupiter and Mars Triple Conjunction
From mid-October to mid-November there’s a wide window when these three planets are loosely in conjunction. They’re not all together at exactly the same moment, but in separate configurations they do connect. Here’s the exact dates:
- 18 Oct – Mars conjunct Jupiter
- 26 Oct – Venus conjunct Jupiter
- 3 Nov – Mars conjunct Venus
If you want to see this triple conjunction, get up early and look east just before dawn. Magnificent!
These three planets together in Virgo raise food, health and wellbeing matters. How good are we feeling in our bodies? Is an exercise plan needed? A new nutrition routine? We might experience health priorities in our families or communities and rally around someone needing care. If you start to increase your fitness training, or a detox program etc, keep a close watch on how your body responds, as there’s a tendency at this time to push beyond limits, and in some instances this might not be safe. Also check generalised ideas of what’s healthy against what’s uniquely right for you.
With so much energy contained in this planetary threesome, sometimes we might feel spikes in anxiety, anger or adrenalin. Just as windows in a house rattle when fierce winds roar outside, so too we might at times start to lose our balance from a build-up of rapid-fire events. This only ups the ante for greater focus, and given Virgo’s ability to focus, we could really move mountains. For some, productivity is at its peak and huge progress can be made.
For others, taking slow small steps is the most sensible thing. When it comes to Virgo, rushing is only advisable if everything practical has been checked. It’s dangerous to fly a plane if you haven’t checked the doors are armed. More preparation might be needed before flying your plane and if that’s what you discover at this triple conjunction, a lot of future time will be saved through not forcing something too quickly now. Or perhaps your plane is ready to fly but you’re running late. Keep focussed and you have a strong chance of getting there.
Final Venus-Mars Conjunction
On 3 November the third Venus-Mars conjunction for this year takes place. This has been a rare treat as usually Venus and Mars do not come together that often. The three dates have been: 22 February (in Aries), 1 September (in Leo) and now 3 November in Virgo. Their window of togetherness lasts until mid-November.
This third and final beautiful exact Venus-Mars conjunction completes a dance these two have been making throughout the year. It brings the culmination of goals – breakthroughs in projects, a creative portfolio coming together, a business enterprise taking off.
It also could bring a happy celebration within relationships, partnerships and work situations, or it could see people shake hands and part ways after reaching a final understanding. Some understandings are foundations to the next level; others are an acceptance that it’s time to say goodbye or to adjust the regularity of a connection. Venus enters Libra on 9 November and helps us settle into our new arrangements.
12 November, New Moon in Scorpio
This new moon has some extraordinary astrology coinciding with it. New Moons usher in new energy and at this particular new moon, this is more so than usual. Scorpio is a zodiac sign that relates to mysteries, deep emotions and powerful passions. What better new moon to usher in the Nodes shifting zodiac sign also on this very day.
The Nodes relate to hidden soul directions, which are often as mysterious to us as the deep soulful waters of Scorpio. All in all this turns 12 November into a big ‘soul day’. The North Node shifts into Virgo and the South Node shifts into Pisces, another soulful water sign. The days around this new moon are rich with the call of the inner self. We might become especially dreamy at this time, or even cranky when daily tasks demand our attention when we’d rather be doing something soulful.
Certainly this is a fantastic time to meditate, have a healing, take a long bath, go for a swim, do a deep relaxation or cuddle up to a loved one. If you’re wanting a relationship and you’re single, you could feel an almost insatiable longing at this time. Make the most of it by clearing your inner space and use your imagination to reach out to your next soul mate. Or grab onto the Virgo energy and do something practical – perhaps get out and about and see who you bump into.
12 & 13 November, Mars and the Nodes
As already mentioned, on 12 November the North Node moves into Virgo, but by some cosmic synchronicity, at the very same moment of its shift it is exactly conjunct Mars. On 12 November, Mars is at the absolute end of its stay in Virgo and getting ready to move into Libra, but before it leaves, it has a strong meeting with the North Node. Like violin strings vibrating intensely on a final note, these two play their last notes loudly and passionately until the break of day. The ‘break of day’ in this instance is 8.41am (AEDT) on 13 November when Mars steps into Libra. He puts on his suit and tie, and nods goodbye to the North Node which is just settling into its new home Virgo for the next 18 months.
We all have a Mars in our charts and the job of our Mars’s is to action things for us. The days, even weeks, around 12 November could be quite passionate while deeper soul feelings help us work out which actions to take. There could be some intense moodiness, frustration, sulking, overexcitement or profound joy about having to stop or start something. The feeling is of a monk who’s been meditating in a cave for a year having to come out and give a public presentation. The monk accepts his ‘next calling’ but lingers until the last moment in the life he’s about to leave. He feels melancholy knowing the North Node will now get to hang out in his cave for 18 months, but he must leave.
Or perhaps it’s the North Node feeling moody about going into the cave after having just spent the past 18 months in social, networking, relationship-focussed sign Libra? The archetype Virgo represents a man or woman about to be married. Libra as an archetype represents marriage. On the morning of the wedding they are still ‘Virgo’, but after they say their vows they’ve entered Libra territory. If they separate, they become ‘Virgo’ again. (I’m speaking about Virgo & Libra archetypes… Virgos of course get married and Libras might not.)
Around mid-November draw on your strength to help you act on the vows or commitments you are about to make, either to an agreement to bond with another (Libra) or to an agreement to be more self-contained (Virgo).
Final Thoughts, Nodes in New Signs
From 12 November the North Node will spend the next 18 months in Virgo and the South Node will be in Pisces. What a lovely alignment for earth and water signs. If you’re a Sun, Moon or Rising Sign (or other planets) in Virgo you might feel a sense of your destiny taking off over this time, or you might be preparing in the background to shape, refine and hone your plans so that in 18 months time when the North Node moves into Leo, it’s your time to shine. Earth signs Taurus and Capricorn benefit from this too.
If you’re a Sun, Moon or Rising Sign (or other planets) in Pisces, you might feel parts of your past slipping away so that gifts already contained within your soul can come more freely to the surface. Whenever the South Node is active, there can even be happy connections with soul mates, but it’s important to let go of anything you know deep down to be baggage or your energy will clog and the flow of life might find it harder to reach you.
For all of us, over the next 18 months the North Node helps us honour and cherish our bodies, nature, all living creatures and the planet as a whole – Virgo is a zodiac sign of purity, humility and care. The South Node helps us respect our ‘waters’. In Pisces, it can lift us to sublime levels but it pays to be careful of addictive habits or behaviours. These are part of the baggage to release so that the good life can flow in – beauty, romance and serenity.
Closing Thoughts, Sagittarius & Pisces
On 21 November Mercury moves into Sagittarius and is closely followed by the Sun also moving into Sagittarius on the 23rd. This helps bring a burst of optimism about new adventures. It’s easier to walk away now from any difficult relationship scenarios or life challenges earlier in the month. We start to spread our wings and test new pastures.
Neptune moves Direct in Pisces on the 20th and Chiron also moves Direct in Pisces on the 29th. This allows for an influx of compassionate, empathetic, healing flow. Spirituality, art, creativity and romance all get a boost. The huge relationship and life direction decisions that have been circulating since September’s eclipses settle and new patterns are established. Any residual pain or disappointment can be more easily faced and healed now, plus new love gets a chance to bloom.
