Exact time & zodiac degree of this moon | Understanding New Moons |
Happy Chinese New Year! This New Moon in Aquarius marks the start of the Chinese Year of the Fire Rooster. It happens right at the tail-end of some difficult energies that have been playing out since the start of December – two whole months of a tough transit of Mercury retrograde through Capricorn next to Pluto. At this new moon, Mercury is making its last contact with Pluto, and is in the process of completing these energies which fully finish on 7 Feb when Mercury moves into Aquarius. There could be some powerful communication dynamics to move through. People have made big decisions over the past two months and at this New Moon in Aquarius might be making announcements about their goals and new commitments. Saturn squares both Venus & Mars showing commitments to values and passions that go deep into the soul, with Venus and Mars both in watery soulful Pisces. It’s a time to give desires and dreams a practical outlet, by going deep with your research and plans, and taking steps to make them achievable and real. With Venus and Mars together, this includes love and romance. Black Moon Lilith is in the last degrees of Scorpio where she has been since May last year, bringing up a lot of challenges in relationships. She has us cleansing and purging old toxic feelings that get us nowhere. She’s on her way out of a tough eight months, and by mid-Feb is in a whole new vibe. Today’s New Moon in Aquarius brings the start of the new vibe in, which will grow lighter and brighter from 7 Feb and even stronger and more optimistic from mid-Feb.
