Exact time & zodiac degree of this moon | Understanding New Moons |
A New Lunar Month is here with its underlying energy template for the next 28 days – Gemini. Being the sign of the twins, this energy template brings fresh chances for positive growth through connections with others; be it a 5 minute phone call to an information service or a long lunch with a friend. What’s more, this Gemini New Moon is a Supermoon (the closest for the year), increasing our chances for a stimulating month, especially this week of the New Moon, in reaching out, networking and creating all kinds of possibilities through our personal and professional connections, either already made or yet to be made.
The ongoing fire theme of the year stands out at this New Moon. Saturn and Uranus are in fire zodiac signs, making a kite formation with the Destiny Nodes, part of which involves a fire grand trine. Here we have a perfect balance of energies for both holding on and letting go; both keeping something we value and also releasing what we can no longer commit to. We might still love many of our previous connections, so how can we create a harmonious experience of holding on and letting go? A Gemini New Moon always brings a choice. It reminds us that we can’t see both the palm of our hand and the top of our hand at the same time; or if we are a coin, we can’t see both our heads and tails. In other words, we can’t be in two places at once in physical reality. We might find a way to talk on the phone to one person while walking beside another and talking to them too, but neither person will get our proper attention and something might slip out of kilter. Choices need to be made about how to juggle best. Manoeuvre your fire grand trine kite strings well and you might fly in an uplifting celebratory way.
Venus is in her last week of being in fire sign Aries for nearly six months and she’s making a helpful sextile alignment to fire planet Mars, lasting all the way through June. The New Moon itself forms a supportive sextile alignment to the fire goddess Vesta. Sextiles bring a positive flow of energy, but usually we need to reach out and ask. So it’s a good time to put yourself out there, have a few laughs, share ideas, collaborate on projects and enjoy some healthy competition. Yet because Venus exactly squares Pluto, there will be some deeper feelings to wrangle, but the effort can be worth it. Pluto helps us get to the bottom of things and discern the rotten eggs from the good eggs. You might get a shock to discover someone you thought was a good egg turns out to be a rotten one, or a pleasant surprise when someone you thought was a rotten egg turns out to be a good one after all, even if a bit of an oddball.
