The Past Six Weeks – Integrating Recent Astrology
Eclipse season is over and Mercury has just gone Direct. Now’s a good time to take stock to integrate the three eclipses, two supermoons and the Mercury Retro period! As ever, astrology is about preparing stronger foundations and next levels to hold the right energies for your life. Does anything need adjusting?
Mars Retro at 29 Degrees
Mars is still Retro, and on 13 August backed out of Aquarius into Capricorn, currently at 29 degrees. Whenever a planet is positioned at 29 degrees of any zodiac sign, it holds extra charge. With Mars Retro at this degree of Capricorn, themes of abundance versus lack are strong, and time is of the essence.
Mars Retro in Capricorn – Cornucopia
Capricorn is a zodiac sign associated with the cornucopia, the ultimate achievement of overflowing abundance. But sometimes we need to experience lack as a short term stage on the road to plenty. Is something in your life feeling depleted or too hard? Is this lack worth it in the long run, not in an idealistic way, but in a practical reachable way? If so, you’ll see the benefit in continuing to be frugal and careful.
But if not, in what area of your life is the lack showing? Is it in health, money, career, love, friendships, housing, or something else? How can you reality-check to be sure you’re not going through a lean time all for nothing or for too great a loss?
Mars Direct 28 August
When Mars goes Direct on 28 August, if you’ve planned and scoped out your path in connection with your truest self and truest goals, you could start to see some rewarding results, especially after Mars leaves Capricorn on 11 September, and also after the Mars shadow period ends on 9 October.
Key Time between now and 11 September
Mars stays in Capricorn at 29 degrees until 11 September giving time to dissect the nuts and bolts of what you’re doing. Check for any blindspots, e.g. are you inadvertently limiting yourself either by believing in advance that you have everything sorted, or by not realising you are banking on hope. The 29 degree mark can feel eerie, poignant or even fortuitous. How can this time inspire you, not drain you? If you’re feeling at significant odds within yourself, how can you address this?
Resolution, Reunion or Reconnection?
The 29 degree mark intensifies the emotional significance of how life moves on and we often lose touch with people when cycles and seasons do their thing; but other times we long to be reconnected with a loved one or times past. These heart-pulls show something is still resonant and seeking reconnection for a reason.
As departures happen, how can you make arrangements for reunions? Often people travel for turning points, such as birthdays, community events, conferences, Christmas. Practical reunion plans, whether weekly, monthly, annually, every few years, make it easier to say goodbye and enjoy the freedom of exploring other needs.
Past Loves – Contact or Not?
The 29 degree point can also bring a strong pull to reconnect with a past love. What if someone you were once close to never found a new love and you feel a pull to contact them? They might not be free to reconnect, but what if they are? How can you approach a person from the past in a way that avoids old stresses?
Life Purpose – Give it another try or not?
Do you have a life dream or purpose you’re having difficulty achieving? If you’re at a crisis point and worried you might have to give it up, what do you still need to try? Maybe you’re missing something and a new perspective will help. There’s a retry energy about this time until mid-September that has a last ‘oomph’ about it, like an athlete getting a final burst of strength to cross the finish line. Yet equally at certain stages in our lives, endings are unavoidable, just like teenagers growing into adults.
Visible Planets – Great to see!
The night sky has been telling a story over July and August with Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Mars all visible. Mars is vivid at the completion 29 degree point in Capricorn, showing clarity and optimism. Mars won’t be anywhere near as visible from early September. The chance to see Mars this bright only happens every now and then; the last time being 2003.
Venus leads the planetary circuit each night over in the west, followed by Jupiter, then by Saturn, then Mars. Venus is brightest of all and in the zodiac sign Libra until 9 September, where she helps with relationships. October and November are big months for Venus – she’ll go Retro and spend a lot of time in the relationship zodiac signs, Libra and Scorpio, repairing and assessing for clearer connections.
Get Ready for November!
How is your mid-August feeling, this checkpoint time, and where do you see yourself in three months? The decisions we make now impact our paths from November, when a lot of big astrology happens.
In November, Jupiter enters Sagittarius and brings speed change. In November, the Destiny Nodes change into Cancer and Capricorn and click in new destiny pathways. In November, Mars moves completely away from its current cycle (since mid-May) of going between Aquarius and Capricorn in a retrograde review season. In November, Venus will move away from a retrograde too (she will go Retro from early October to mid-November).
