New & Full Moons 2008

Below is a table outlining the key dates, times and zodiac sign positions for new and full moons in 2008.

Every year there is a new moon in each zodiac sign and also a full moon, so your star sign (i.e. your Sun sign) will receive the powerful influence of these moons twice a year. But it’s not only the Sun that’s in a zodiac sign at your time of birth.  If you happen to know your Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars sign, or even your Rising Sign, take note of when new or full moons fall in those signs. They will also be power times for you. It’s especially helpful to know your Moon sign. Go to http://www.astro.com for a free birth chart that gives this information.

If you study astrology, you might find it useful to know the degree and minutes of the new and full moons each month to see if they match up with the degree and minutes of any of your chart planets/points.

The following table provides Australian Eastern time, either in daylight savings time (AEDT) or standard time (AEST), using the 24-hour clock. Energetically the moon is at its peak strength at this time but the moon’s influence is generally noticeable a day or more either side of a full or new moon. It’s not uncommon for the exact time of the new or full moon to happen in daytime, which seems odd given that the moon comes out at night. Yet the new or full moon energy is powerful both when viewed at night or at the actual time of its climax even if during the day.
