Pretty much throughout all of April, but especially during the first few weeks, there’s a grand cross alignment involving Mars, Pluto and the Nodes. Grand crosses bring lessons and challenges while the Nodes try to pull us out of past defeating patterns and into more fulfilling ways of being. Once again, the planetary energies are asking us to grow at a rapid rate. But take heart, there are a few helpful planetary alignments also operating throughout the month that lend a helping hand.
But first to the lessons! When Mars is hooked up with Pluto things can get explosive. Anything we’ve been trying to suppress is itching to come to the surface. The best approach is to face our secrets, our denials and our hidden agendas. No matter how evolved we think ourselves or others to be, there is still always a shadow side – it’s part of being human. The extent to which we can catch and transform our darkness determines the extent to which we can truly evolve. We must be ever alert to our unconscious and its sneaky ways. If you find yourself or others giving mixed messages (e.g. saying one thing but doing another – or vice versa), use the power of Mars to cut through barriers to truth. When Mars and Pluto collide, things don’t feel so gentle or ‘love and light’, but do your best not to give over to the aggressive Mars ‘killer’ instinct. Instead try to be more like a peaceful warrior. You might become a bully momentarily or others might bully you. Use a healthy warrior approach to cut to the chase and honestly face whatever’s going wrong. Before you know it, things will be going more right than ever before. You’ll have more energy, more self-esteem and more respect for yourself and others once you are not afraid to address your own or others’ dark sides.
On 5 April, Saturn shifts into forward motion and for the rest of the month lends moral support. Turn to mentors you trust if you find yourself in a spot of bother and they will be there for you. If you find that someone who usually acts as a guide is no longer approachable or available, reach out for another – you are ready for a new teacher. Jupiter and Uranus, the planets of evolvement and change, work together to give not only the visions, but also the tools, required to help you become an effective creator of your reality. Find some inspirational ‘manifesting’ material to read. There are many ways to manifest our dreams – discover the latest techniques that work for you. If you’re at a loss to know where to look, get in touch with like-minded friends or groups. The energies are very positive for advancing forward this month when connecting with the hearts and minds of those on a similar path.
April’s full moon is in Libra on the 13th/14th and the new moon is in Taurus on the 27th/28th. Most of the month carries the Libra theme of getting relationships sorted out – all kinds of relationships, not just lover connections. Check you are asserting your true needs in any interaction and negotiating win-wins for yourself and others. The Taurus new moon at the end of the month will help us implement the right foundations for all the latest changes in our lives. I’m looking forward to that bit of Taurus grounding!
