Throughout June, the triple alignment of Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius continues. The month started with these three highlighted at the Full Moon on the 8th. Being in Jupiter’s sign – Sagittarius – the Full Moon encouraged increased optimism for the future. Yet ironically, due to the triple alignment, we might’ve swung between feelings of hopelessness and idealism. This cosmic yo-yo effect persists in June, but fortunately Mars & Venus travel together in earth sign Taurus throughout the month to help us find a middle-ground.
In fact, these two cosmic lovers make an exact connection on 21 June offering positive possibilities for affairs of the heart. Venus represents the feminine archetype, and Mars the masculine. When together in a fond embrace, as they are in June, this pair shows us how to unite polar opposites within ourselves. Indeed, June’s challenge is to find the balancing point whenever our inner pendulum swings. If our minds and emotions chase after sandcastles in the sky due to the triple alignment, or even refuse to see that our dreams are actually manifesting, then Venus and Mars in Taurus can help us become calm, stable and sane. Mostly, they warn against isolating ourselves. Connecting with friends, family, colleagues and loved ones in small ways over life’s practicalities (e.g. a lunchtime walk, a shared meal, a chat in the car) is invaluable.
We benefit from mixing with a variety of people so that we can share both masculine- and feminine-minded points of view this month to come up with some magnificent problem solving. Venus and Mars in Taurus also help find solutions to some of our collective and individual money worries. Confiding our stresses with trusted others, rather than battling on alone, could be the go. Venus needs a Mars to talk to, and Mars needs a Venus. We each have the masculine & feminine archetypes within us, whether we are male or female, so if you’re a woman this doesn’t mean you should only talk to men. It’s about taking turns to listen (Venus) and offer advice/insights (Mars) or receive support (Venus) or take action (Mars). Together, new sustainable plans can be made that help take the pressure off. Overall, throughout June Mars and Venus help us make in-roads with romance and money, and integrate our personal inner contradictions.
In May’s e-news, I talked of how we move out of the Mercury Retrograde window after 16 June. Mercury began travelling direct at the end of May, yet won’t move past the location it went Retro at until 16 June. Confusion is almost as prevalent as the common cold lately, with the triple alignment in force, yet this begins to ease somewhat from the 16th when Mercury’s brand of confusion lifts. However, the intensity of the triple alignment is not likely to ease until the end of the month. Under this triple alignment we are as prone to sudden flashes of brilliance as we are to sudden surges of panic. Our sensitivity levels are heightened right now. In Aquarius, these three each seem to be pouring out their own versions of Aquarian waters of consciousness upon humanity. Perhaps this is a taste-tester of the Age of Aquarius, or even of 2012.
Many of us are feeling either energetically wired or depleted with such an Aquarian influx. Being associated with all things electrical, it’s no surprise that Aquarius is said to rule technology. The rate of technological evolution is accelerating, and our personal bio-energetic systems are struggling to keep up. For example, with increased use of wireless internet, mobile phones etc, we are physically subjected to more and more electro-magnetic and other frequencies. Just because we can’t see them, doesn’t mean they’re not there or not affecting us. The triple alignment is drawing all of this to our attention. Do we want an even more intensified version of this by 2012 and beyond? Do we even know the extent of technological advancement behind the scenes, and if we did, would we agree with it? What are the alternatives?
The positive side of many of us being irritated and agitated by contemporary energy-system overload is that we are driven to deeply appreciate that we truly are energetic beings. In taking care of our energetic selves, we discover our ability to contribute to the way the future is created. For when we take care of our energetic selves, we change the vibrational frequency of our energetic templates so that they radiate health and attract the lives we want.
When Jupiter turns Retro on 15 June, all three of the triple alignment planets will then be travelling retrograde (Chiron and Neptune are already in Retro motion). This offers the chance to deeply reflect on the Aquarian themes mentioned above. The New Moon on the 23rd in Cancer also encourages us to go within and enjoy a reflective phase. This falls soon after the Winter Solstice on the 21st, offering yet another cosmic signpost for retreat and reflection. This year’s Winter Solstice (when the Sun moves into Zero Degrees Cancer) is accompanied by the Nodes – the Axis of Destiny – also at Zero Degree zodiac locations. Solstices are already known to be powerful seasonal turning points when the ‘veils between the worlds’ are at their thinnest, yet the involvement of the Nodes amplifies this ‘in between time’.
Often souls choose to leave at solstice times, and new souls choose to come in. Traditionally the Winter Solstice is a time of letting go of the old and fanning the flame of the new. After the Winter Solstice each day receives a little more sunlight than the previous one until the sun reaches its peak at Summer Solstice. At this Winter Solstice, the added input of the Nodes shows that many of us will reach important soul contract turning points. If you’ve been feeling at a crossroads, you are likely to get a strong indication from your soul-self (e.g. through cosmic synchronicities; dreams; or listening to the calm, still voice within) of which path is most optimal for you to follow.
Finally, for anyone wishing to be entranced by Neptune (one of the ‘big three’ in the triple alignment) and learn more about this astrological archetype (alive and well in all our lives in so many ways right now), check out this 10-minute YouTube movie on Neptune’s Return (discussed in my April e-news) by my astrology colleagues Nick Owens and Julija Simas of the C*I*A.
Happy solstice!
