13 MARCH 2017, VIRGO, Supermoon NO, Eclipse NO
This Full Moon in Virgo happens at the same time Black Moon Lilith squares the ‘destiny Nodes’, all raising themes of feeling bound or unbound, in the positive and in the negative. The Virgo symbol looks like ropes, braids or ribbons knotting or unknotting at the bottom. The Nodes themselves look like hooks clicking together or clicking apart, so this Full Moon has the theme of checking we are on track to be locked into the future life paths we want, and unlocked from the ones we don’t. Old Celtic weddings used to incorporate ‘handfasting’ or ‘handbinding’ where in the ceremony, the hands of the bride and groom were bound together with braided cords. Yet in this day and age, the whole theme of ‘binding’ has many distortions. A huge wave of desire imagery we’re now accustomed to often involves people tied up and finding freedom through no choices, no responsibility. The constant repetition of this imagery in advertising and other subliminal messaging avenues can lock it in as a desire pursuit, which might be valid for a time, but if the essential ‘fire’ of a person’s life essence is sidetracked or delayed for too long by this theme influencing key life decisions, it can be a long path to resuscitating the ‘true self’ and getting back on track, sometimes lifetimes.
This Full Moon in Virgo helps us discern the extent to which we are giving away our personal destiny or life choices by overriding our core needs either with too many ordinary routine ‘robot tasks’ or too many substitute freedom pleasure experiences. Virgo says look around at the practicalities of your daily life to see what you are bound to. If you keep up your current habitual routines or practices where will they lead? This year is a massive one for locking in destiny pathways, and an important one to take the blinkers off. If you find yourself inadvertently demeaning those who persistently work at fulfilling their true sense of self, be that as a cook, carpenter, parent, banker, farmer, rock star, architect, horticulturist, doctor, nurse, cinema usher, librarian etc or whatever gives their soul a sense of true meaning, it might be a signal you are accidentally demeaning your own core life path. This is a time to let go of under- or over-rating any one particular life path. All are valid as long as we are clicked into our core essence/true inner flame.
There’s a chance right now at this Full Moon to snap out of paths that have been chosen out of pressure to be glamorous, or pressure to be humble and ordinary. If the blinkers come off and you notice you are choosing to be a movie star because you feel pressure to be glamorous, you’ll see how this is a suffocating, even ordinary, path for you if, for example, your soul wants you to be a quiet field scientist, and which you would know is the rewarding path for you if you bubble over with warmth inside each time you think of it. This Full Moon helps us break free from peer pressure, hidden or overt, around what is hot or not hot to be, and into what is hot for our true selves.
