25 AUGUST 2016, GEMINI
Exact time & zodiac degree of this Moon | Understanding Quarter Moons |
Have you noticed bright red Mars and creamy-white Saturn together with red star Antares centre stage in our night skies? ‘Antares’ means ‘anti-Mars’. These two fight over the heart of the constellation Scorpio, drawing competing forces in our lives to the fore. Saturn gives us a chance to review what we can or cannot practically get involved with, and to say ‘no’ to some passions, while ‘yes’ to others. Another current major alignment in our night skies highlights huge brilliant Venus setting in the west each evening with bright Jupiter above her and Mercury to the left, bringing a very optimistic energy. Alignment one involves a threesome (Mars, Saturn, Antares) and alignment two also involves a threesome (Venus, Jupiter and Mercury). Yet this Quarter Moon is in the zodiac sign Gemini, the sign of the twins, or ‘two’. A couple (e.g. husband/wife, mother/daughter, brother/sister, boss/employee) sometimes benefits from the input of a third party (shown by optimistic Venus, Jupiter and Mercury), but other times it causes pain and conflict (shown by Saturn, Mars and Antares). At this quarter moon in Gemini, pay close attention to the words and body language of others and listen more carefully to your own thoughts and feelings. You’ll discover your own ‘inner threesome’; something you’ve been ‘married to’ in terms of a passion for a long while (e.g. being a chef). This something, although still very beloved to you, might have an inner competitor (e.g. renovating a dream home) or perhaps it’s no longer a beloved and the energies of this week help you complete a cycle. There’s a right time and right place for every desire. If you want to have it all, now’s the time to use some particularly clever foresight and to do some pretty serious scheduling (and juggling!) to make that happen.
